How to recycle your packaging
This guide is made for the purpose of helping customers recycle IDUN Minerals packaging.
-
Step 1
Many of IDUN Minerals products have an outer packaging made of paper to protect the product from damage during transport. The outer packaging should be sorted as paper packaging. The leaflets should be sorted as paper/newspaper.
-
Step 2
When your IDUN Minerals Product is empty, all parts that are possible to separate should be separated and recycled based on material.
We value the product contains very highly with its natural and mild ingredients. In the same way, we want to put a value on the product packaging and contribute with the information on how to best recycle them.
Many emptied packaging including IDUN Minerals tend to end up in the regular trash, this means an end to the life cycle of the material. Many packaging has the potential to be recycled and reused.
Many product packaging consists of several different types of material for different parts. Therefore, it is important to separate different parts for the best possible recycling potential. The recycling guide will be updated depending on what type of packaging materials that are used. Our goal is to reduce the amount of plastic and material in general for packaging but due to the good barrier properties of plastics, it is often the best alternative for the product durability. The long-term goal is that all product packaging in IDUN Minerals assortment should be recyclable or reusable.
Collapsible content
Corks & Lids
All IDUN Minerals corks and lids consist of plastic and should be separated from the base and sorted as plastic packaging. Some of the products that have corks and lids: Nordic veil, Norrsken, Brush cleanser, 2-in-1 Leave-in Treatment Scalp & Hair, Refreshing Dry Shampoo, Micellar Water, Tinted Daycream and Face primer.
Plastic packaging
IDUN Minerals product packaging consists mostly of plastic due to the ability to protect mild and natural product content. It is therefore very important for us that the empty product container is sorted and recycled correctly for it to be able to become a new packaging. Most of IDUN Minerals product packaging should be sorted as plastic such as the powder products (puderfoundation, puderrouge), concealers (excl. Click-concealer), mascaras, pens (excl. wood pencils), lip products (excl. Lipstick), eyeliners and also Brush Cleaner.
Important note, Brush Cleaner container needs to be completely empty when recycled, otherwise, it should be sorted as hazardous waste.
The product packaging for IDUN Minerals hair- and skincare should also be sorted as plastic except for the bottle of refreshing dry shampoo. These are the Face Cleansers, Facemasks and Scrub, Day and Night Cream, Shampoo and Conditioner, Hair Masque and the 2-in-1 Leave-In Treatment Hair & Scalp.
Metal packaging
The Click Concealer and bottle for Refreshing Dry Shampoo consists of metal and should be emptied before recycling and sorted as metal packaging.
Combustible
The packaging for products Pressed Powder, Duo Concealer, Pressed Blush, Bronzer, Highlighter, Eyeshadow, Lipstick, and Makeup Brushes consist of a combination of materials such as glass, metal, wood and plastic and should be sorted in the regular trash.
Hazardous Waste
Nail polish and Nail Hardener should be sorted as hazardous waste. Brush Cleaner and Dry Shampoo should be sorted as hazardous waste in case that there is a product still left in the bottle.
